Collective Heart offers support either by financial contribution, volunteer support or a combination of both. Individual members may offer further support beyond the means of Collective Heart if they wish to do so. Below are some of the organisations who we have provided support to.

Ashraya

Ashraya Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Center is a home for approximately sixty children in R.T Nagar, Bangalore, India. In addition to residential facilities, the Center provides education, medical care, rehabilitation and vocational training to the children. The children fall in the age-group of 2-18 yrs and some of them are mentally or physically challenged.

Malipai

Malipai exists for the people of Bacolod City, Philippines, who are members of the Livelihood Association. Malipai’s team are based on the ground in the Philippines and in Australia. Our goal is to help the community become sustainable both environmentally and financially to break the cycle of poverty and enrich the lives of the people in the area.

Mentor Support Network

Mentor Support Network (MSN) exists to help youth achieve their educational and career goals. MSN award scholarships and support to students in financial need. They provide training, professional development and networking for mentors. Our work is delivered through partnerships with volunteers, our members and the corporate sector.

Soul Café

Soul Café provides hundreds of free meals per week to highly disadvantaged members of the Newcastle community, Australia. Many are homeless, have a mental illness, substance abuse issue or live in poverty. The meals are simply the medium to be able to work with people in a greater way. Soul Café is not government funded, and relies on community generosity.

Umbrella Foundation

The Umbrella Foundation Australia is a family-first, children’s charity working to relieve the impact of trafficking and poverty on the children of Nepal through projects which promote education, reintegration and community development.

Zara’s House

The dream for Zara’s House is for it to be place of welcome that alleviates social exclusion, where refugee women and families meet Australian women, share hospitality, ideas, culture, learning and local opportunities.

DARA’s Refugee Hub

DARA’s Refugee Hub plays an integral role in the settlement of refugees in the Newcastle and Hunter region. By working collaboratively with other service providers, Refugee Hub walks with refugees to support and empower them on their journey to independence.

DSAA

The Disabled Surfers Association of Australia (DSAA) creates opportunities for everyone to experience unique, safe and happy surfing events, whilst under supervision from Team Leaders and Beach Marshalls. The ocean is nature’s playground and the DSAA ensures everyone has the opportunity to have fun in the ocean together.
