In keeping with the Collective Heart’s purpose of co-ordinating acts of kindness and generosity, we are proud to be organising the Sleepout for Soul at Home fundraising event for Soul Café on Friday 29th May 2020.
The Covid-19 pandemic has greatly increased the need for the Soul Café’s services. To assist them during this time, Collective Heart are organising and coordinating this fundraising event so the Soul Café team can focus their efforts on helping the disadvantaged in our local community.
Rick from the Soul Café chats with Matt from Collective Heart about the benefits that your fundraising will make to their services.
Become a Soul Sleeper
It’s easy and fun to participate. Simply register yourself, your household or your school team as a fundraiser for Soul*. Then ask friends, family or co-workers to sponsor your Sleepout. You could even start a competition with others to see who raises the most!
Next grab your swags, sleeping bags and tents and get creative. Your campsite can be anywhere in your home - backyard, courtyard, balcony, lounge room, bathtub or cubby house etc. Give your campsite a theme or add some flair with fancy dress. You could even arrange a neighbourhood Sleepout – as long as social distancing rules are applied.
On the night and all across the city, Soul Sleepers will be connected in the cloud via the Facebook Event Page. There will be activities for all ages such as Tic Tok dance competitions, bands and performers, awards for creative campsites and fancy dress, the Sleepout Auction and much more.
*Please comply with social distancing rules when you take part.

About Soul Café
Soul Café provides hundreds of free meals per week to highly disadvantaged members of our community, many of whom are homeless, have a mental illness, suffer from a substance abuse issue or live in poverty.
These meals link the vulnerable café guests to a range of services which can helping them on a path towards increased safety, health and purpose. Services including drug, alcohol and substance abuse programs, accommodation links, Centrelink referral, mental health counselling, refuge referral, haircuts, Legal Aid, podiatry and a free doctor’s clinic.
Soul Café does not receive government funding, so relies primarily on contributions from local businesses and individuals and fundraising endeavours. Last year, the Soul Sleepout raised over $150,000 to fund their services.
