On Tuesday 1st September we’ll be having our Collective Heart breakfast using Zoom.
This month we welcome back Kym McDonald, founder of the Karma Yoga Community which provides meals daily for 250 children at the Ashraya School and orphanage in Bangalore, India.
Ashraya School and Orphanage have experienced difficult times lately with the impact of land ownership changes of the school along with the widespread health, economic and social effects of COVID-19. Kym will provide a background on Ashraya as well as update on the current situation. Collective Heart has provided a monthly regular contributor to Ashraya for a few years now.
We’ll also be recapping and updating on the Collective Cook Up with DARA’s Refugee Hub and follow on opportunities that have evolved. This includes assistance in building up driving hours for learner drivers as well as bicycle donations.
In addition to this, a new initiative is in the early stages of development - The Hunter Disability & Inclusion Network. Bill Armstrong, Collective Heart’s newest member, is one of the pioneers behind this idea and will share some of his thoughts, motivations and aspirations for this group.
We welcome all members and guests to join us for our Collective Heart catchup via ZOOM.
Registrations essential - We will open the event from 7.15am and start at 7.30am.
