Good Afternoon Collective Heartians,
2018 is underway with our first breakfast now behind us and looking forward to the year ahead.
2018 has been declared the “year of activity”. We’ll still be giving away cash month to month. In addition, we’ll be giving an extra bit of encouragement to engage in some local activity. Doing so really warms up the heart and takes the engagement with Collective Heart and your fellow members to another level.
To assist with this, here’s a rough indicator of scheduled activity in the diary.
- Disabled Surfers carpool and participation (Feb & Mar)
- Charity golf day for Connectability (March)
- Soul Café Sleep Out (June)
- Surfboards and school/community supply gathering – Vanuatu (Sept)
- Local Philanthropic Event (October)
- Malipai Charity Ball (September)
- Refugee Gift Hampers (Nov)
- Christmas/Seasons party (Dec)
There is a trip to the Philippines end April/early May for anyone keen for this. On this note, if you are considering sponsoring a child in the Philippines and you would like to travel to meet them one day please speak with Matt Linnert or Trevor Williams before taking up sponsorship so we can ensure your child is in an accessible part of the Philippines.
Regarding international travel, if you’re interested in what Stewart is doing in Vanuatu with ‘Operation Do Something’ I’m sure you could join him for his visit in September.
We have a few other things in design at present, being the “Conversational English Program” and “Who’s coming for dinner”. More on this at our next breakfast.
Our monthly breakfasts are one of Collective Heart’s activities which supports Soul Café as well as gives us an opportunity to provide updates and create opportunities. These will continue on the first Tuesday of each month.
The last two years we have taken a few tables at charity ball’s so we will keep an eye out for this as well.
